Social Media Journal Tour

Since my blog’s birthday is coming up on the 20th, I wanted to do some social media posts for this month (so if you voted in my Instagram and Twitter polls for that, thank you for the input!). I’m far from being an expert on the subject of organization or social media, but I am a fan of trying to streamline projects when possible, and keeping a social media journal has been super helpful so far!

I started this journal toward the end of January, but didn’t start using it until February, so this is sort of a comparison of what I’ve learned so far.
The journal is made from two notebooks (yay, clearance sections!). Initially, I had all the cover and dividers for both in it as a Frankenplanner, but since that ended up being too cluttered, I “rebuilt” it using the exterior cover and rings from one notebook, and both dot grid and lined paper from both.

The notebooks were two different themes, but the colors matched pretty well, so I’ve mixed and matched dividers.

I figured an index page would be a good starting point, but as you can see, I haven’t yet put in all of the information it will need to track. (Indexes take me a long time to actually make.)

Since I want to focus on consistency and growing my social media following,
I made this for a quick reference to compare numbers throughout the year.

I only started planning out Instagram themes last year, but I found it simplified the planning process. I try to keep filters and editing as close as possible on each photo, so I’m also tracking filters and props used for each month’s theme.

A reference for the social media schedule I’m testing. On the back, I have my current blog schedule
(which I’m hoping to rework a little bit).

When I bought the notebooks for this journal, I also bought a pack of paper designed as daily/hourly to-do lists. With some washi tape and stickers, those have been easy to customize into a monthly overview. I can put my to-do lists, post checklists, and blog post idea lists here. (February’s is a bit cluttered and doesn’t include Instagram posts for the photo challenge I hosted.)

March, on the other hand, is a bit cleaner and organized. I would like to get to the point of having all my posts drafted and scheduled by the end of the first week of each month, but so far that hasn’t happened yet. It’s still helpful to have the to-do list though!

On the back of the overview page, there is a hashtag reference list for challenges I might participate in. I also included a to-do list for the blog redesign I’ve been working on this month. The next page is an Instagram grid schedule, with a short description of the photo or caption. I also have challenge days written as well, so I don’t forget to add those hashtags later. I really like how this worked out for March, so I will probably continue making the grid pages each month.

And with the blog redesign, I also wanted to make a quick reference style guide for all things Lovely Whatsoevers! It’s still a work-in-progress, but I’m planning to include post image sizes, main fonts, and the HTML codes for the colors used in the design.

What are your favorite tips and tricks for staying organized with social media?

  1. First of all, your new header is LOVELY! *heart-eyes*

Secondly, I LOVED THIS SO MUUUCH!!! It's so organized and aesthetically pleasing. *more heart-eyes* All these ideas of organization and keeping track of things is BRILLIANT. And I bet it really helps with motivation too!

I keep most of my lists in a Scrivener file, but I should really incorporate notebooks more into my life. I do tooo much on the computer screen. It would be a nice change to have some things with good ol' pen and paper. And how you organized it is truly genius. Thank you so much for sharing! I loved all of this!

    1. Thank you so much! It felt like time for a little something different, and I really liked being able to use similar colors to what I've been using, while still having a little bit of a fantasy-writer feel to it?

Scrivener is just such a useful tool for blogging and social media stuff! I like using it for keeping track of drafts and links, while scribbling ideas out on paper is helpful for my brainstorming process.
