Hello, Summer! | June 2018

June seemed to fly by this year. There was a lot going on—general life things, changes in routine, and the death of a family member—and the days went by quickly, leaving much of the month in a sort of blur of events. But summer is here, and despite the sometimes-wearying heat, it’s usually a time of memory-making and gatherings and rest, and I’m looking forward to what’s store in the coming weeks.
More TAD2 work.
I feel like this is a standard way of recapping the month now. But I will be sending out the first chapters for feedback this month, so if you’d like to be a part of that, I have some info in this post or you can let me know in the comments or by email (check out the teal envelope on my sidebar or the link on the “About” page).

Prep for Camp NaNo.
I’m keeping things simple with a goal of 10,000 words. I want to work on a short story/novella in July, and maybe a second short story if the first is completed early. We’ll see how things go, but overall I want to keep my Camp writing relaxed and fun. I’ll probably have a blog post about that up sometime in July.
ON THE BLOG

I confess I didn’t do much blog reading or commenting in June, but I plan to get back to that in July because there are so many posts I need to catch up on but didn’t have a chance to read yet! If you have any favorites, feel free to share them in the comments!

Acquiring a kitten.
You know what’s funny? Coming home from work to find out your dad brought home a new kitten.

She’s adorable, tiny, energetic, and her name is Lynx.

(Mostly) staying on track with my health/fitness goals.
While I didn’t meet my weight loss goal of three pounds, I did accomplish over half of my workout goals for the month. I’m still deciding on what kind of workout schedule and routines I’m going to do for July, but overall, June was pretty successful. I got a Fitbit this month too, so that’s been a fun initiative to make sure I’m working toward goals each day.

Decluttering!
It’s been a time-consuming task but I’ve been able to rearrange my bookshelves (again) and sort through and inventory things I’ve had for a while. I’m not quite done with this task yet, but I’m hoping to finish it in July.
How was your June? Are you enjoying summer so far? Participating in Camp NaNo? Tell me about your month in the comments!

    1. She's so cute! It took us a couple days to pick a name but my dad suggested Lynx and it really does suit her. (But if she's anything like our other pets, she'll end up with a dozen or so nicknames soon enough, hehe!)

      Thanks, dearie! *hugs*
