Flowers & Sunshine | April 2018

And just like that, we’re through another month. April was pretty busy on the writing front with Camp NaNo and all, and with general life stuff, but it was a good month full of fun moments.
Camp NaNo
I didn’t win this session of Camp, but I’ve got a good start on this project’s round of revisions! You can check out some fun behind-the-scenes stuff about it in this Twitter thread.

TAD2.
This took up most of my writing energy this month and continues to move steadily (if slowly) toward the end of the current draft.

I’ve changed up the color scheme and design a little bit on LW this month. I also changed the URL, which is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a few months now. If you’re having any trouble with any links or anything looks weird on the blog, please let me know! I’d love to know what you think of the new colors and such as well.

ON THE BLOG

AROUND THE BLOGOSPHERE
A nifty guide to turning a novella into a novel, including tips for expanding character arcs and adding new characters.

I read an earlier version of this short story and it is soooo good, y’all. How cool is this cover?

Finished The Office.
I’ve been meaning to watch this series for years and finally started it late last year. It’s quirky and weird but also a lot of fun.

Watched The Greatest Showman.
I understand the hype now, y’all. It was such a blast to watch and I’m in love with the music.

Watched The Avengers: Infinity War.
THIS MOVIE. It made me angry and sad and excited all at once, proved and disproved some of my theories, and held some surprises I was not at all expecting. There are so many things I want to say but it’s really a movie that can’t be discussed without spoilers. (But if you’ve seen it: How are you holding up? Started that 2019 countdown yet?)

Really though, I loved it and left the theater immediately wanting to rewatch the movie.

Bought more flowers.
Last month, I purchased a lavender plant and some irises. While the irises have faded, the lavender seems to be doing well! This month, I found some pretty red daisies at Lowe’s. I’ll hopefully have some pictures of them on here soon...
How was your month? Did you participate in Camp NaNo? Watch any new favorite movies or shows? Have any fun springtime adventures? Tell me about them in the comments!

  1. I can't believe it's already May. Good gracious. o.o

I didn't get NEARLY as much done on the writing front in April either. It was just one of those months I think. o.o But I'm so exciting revisions are coming along for you!

I had noticed your blog went through some changes and I LOVE IT. The simplistic design with the pop of colors is so eye catching and appealing. It's perfect!

Thank you for linking to my post. I'm so honored! :D

Oh my goodness, I watched The Greatest Showman just last week and EEEEEEE!!! I LOVED IT! I was a bit skeptical with all the hype, but yep, it's hyped for a reason. IT WAS SO SO SO GOOD.

And I watched Infinity War Sunday. And...just... O___O MY FEELS. You put it perfectly: Angry, sad, and excited. Yep, yep, yep. It was SUCH an emotional roller coaster. Waiting a whole YEAR for part 2 may kill me. *collapses*

But Marvel feels or not, I do hope you have the most amazing May! ;D

    1. Yeah...April didn't quite go as planned but that was okay. I like the writing that did get accomplished and I'm excited about making progress on them!

Thank you! I wanted to brighten things up for spring/summer. I'm glad you like it!

You're welcome! I'm definitely going to be using some of those tips in the future. :)

Me too. I was worried I wasn't going to love it but IT WAS SO GREAT. It was just so fun and colorful and I can't get the songs out of my head now. :D

Oh my goodness, Infinity War. I still have so many feelings and theories and *screeches* It was worth the wait though and I'm nervous but excited to see what next year's installment brings.

      Have a wonderful month! :)
