Oh, What Fun! Blog Party: A Favorite Christmas Tradition
When I was a really little kid, my parents would read to me and my siblings before we went to sleep. On Christmas Eve, however, instead of reading from our Disney or fairy tale storybooks, they read something else.
We usually sat in the living room, sitting in front of the Christmas tree or the fireplace. Sometimes we would already have cookies set out for Santa; sometimes not.
Dad would read from Luke about the Birth of Jesus. Then he would read The Night Before Christmas.
Even when we were all teens, we still gathered together for this tradition. It's a simple tradition, maybe, but it's one of my favorite things about Christmas Eve.
