Another Update!

Life has been full of changes lately.

My mom started her new job as an RN lately, after a couple of years of hard work to earn her degree. We’re all very proud of her. :) So we’re all adjusting to our new “normal” schedule.

Mostly, outside of work, I’ve been reading and writing and watching a lot of TV. Which, in hindsight, makes me sound pretty lazy in a way, doesn’t it? Hehe.

In January, I finished the first draft of a quirky short story I started in November (it’s like a rom-com told through the POV of an AI system). And in February, I challenged myself to finish a first draft of a project I’m currently calling The Survival Novel. I finished it, but it just didn’t feel quite close to what I want it to be. It’s the second time I’ve written this plot, but I guess I just haven’t found just the right stride for writing it.
March has been a slower writing month. I’ve been trying to draft some more blog posts; my internet access is still limited right now, but I like having some ready to schedule when I get the chance. And also, I’m working on a novella. It’s fantasy, and currently titled Star-Song. I’m still figuring it out as I go, though I have a vague idea of the plot. While I probably won’t finish it by the end of March, I’d like to finish it sometime in April
Speaking of, I’ll be participating in the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo (username: TnBabyGirl)! I’m going to be revising my futuristic fantasy novel called Down in Flame. It’s about a girl who ends up working with a group of thieves. I wrote the first draft in the June 2012 session of Camp NaNo, and haven’t really done anything with it since I had the proof copy printed later that year.
So, if you’re doing the April session of Camp, I’d love to hear about what you’re working on! I’ll be keeping track of my progress on Twitter and Instagram probably more than anywhere else, so if you want, you can check those out.
That’s pretty much what’s been going on around here.

  1. Congrats on your mom's new job! I am not going to be doing the Camp Nano this time, but I hope you do well in your own work. Keep writing!
