Oddly Specific Things I Love in Books | Bookish Tag
I was tagged by The Hopeful Pen from With Joy in the Work to do the "Oddly Specific Things I Love in Books" Tag! This is such a fun theme, and I had such fun creating this list!
THE OUTLINE
1. Link back to who tagged you
2. Share the Graphic on your blog
3. Share the Outline on your post
4. Share a detail you love about the season of summer into fall
5. List at least 7 random/ specific things YOU love to read about in books, big or small
6. Tag 7 people who would enjoy taking part/whose answers you are curious to read!
A DETAIL ABOUT THE SEASON:
Since it is currently winter, and I’ve written about fall not too long ago, I’ll adapt this prompt just a little. A detail I love about winter is how it can be an opportunity to slow down, to rest or do something that feels restful. As I write this, it is currently very cold and there is a lot of snow, and I don’t have anywhere that I need to be, so it has been a cozy day of enjoying the snowfall and staying warm.
7 ODDLY SPECIFIC THINGS I LOVE IN BOOKS
#1: When characters who usually call each other by a title or nickname call each other by their “real” names.
#2: Redemption arcs (in general), but also the ones where the redeemed character doesn’t die and earns the trust of the others and becomes a true friend/ally.
#3: When characters are upset with each other but will still fight for them because they care.
#4: Flashbacks/multiple timelines (if done well).
#5: When a calm character hits their limit and is suddenly not-so-calm anymore.
#6: A plot twist that you don’t exactly see coming, but when it happens, all the foreshadowing suddenly clicks into place and you wonder how you never picked up on it.
#7: Stories with good family dynamics, or friendships that are like a family.

Number #2 is just 🤌
