Goodbye, July! | July 2023

July was the month in which summer really arrived and settled in. There have been pretty days and fun moments, but also a lot of hiding indoors from the heat. It was a productive month on the day-to-day scale of things, though!

An at-home writing “retreat.”

I had a weekend with a lot more free time than usual available, so I had a mini writing retreat at home! I got a few scenes and chapters done (more than I’ve written some months this year, honestly). It was nice!

#AbouttheAuthorAugust is returning for its fifth year!

You can find all the details here, or in the post coming up on the blog tomorrow!

Family gatherings.

With the Fourth and several birthdays, we had a few family gatherings this month. It was even cool enough the evening of the Fourth, after a bout of rain, that we were still able to have dinner outside as planned!

Reading.

I’m still very behind on tracking my reading this year, but I did read a few books this month! I reread a couple of cute summery contemporaries, and listened to an audiobook of Frankenstein

How was your July? Any favorite moments or adventures?
