It’s the second Saturday of October, which means it’s time for the second “gathering” at The Whatsoever Cafe! 

What is the Whatsoever Cafe?

A once-monthly blog post meet up here at Lovely Whatsoevers where we can gather in the comments and talk about writing victories and struggles, what’s inspiring us, and to just have fun talking about the writing life! The virtual doors will open on the second Saturday of each month, but you can join any time of the month!

What you’re working on:

Finished up a few more scenes in The Treasonist’s Son, and thinking about my NaNo project.

A writing victory:

Getting through a challenging scene that required one of my characters to push past their self doubts and just Do A Thing. I’ve been over this scene several times with different approaches, but this time it feels really close to being almost right.

A writing struggle:

Focus. That’s been a struggle all year, really, in more ways than just writing focus, but I’ve been able to see some progress the last few weeks. It’s still something to work on, but I am happy about the progress, even if it’s frustrating sometimes.

What’s inspiring you:

It’s October. And even though it’s not completely looking like autumn around here, the days have been lovely and inspiring and keep reminding me that I really do enjoy this time of year a lot as I get older.

A goal for the month:

Finish a few more scenes for The Treasonist’s Son and finish my NaNoWriMo prep! I am pretty sure of what I’ll be writing, but I do have a lot left to brainstorm and map out. (If you’re doing NaNo this year and want to be buddies, you can find me here!)
