Summer’s End | September 2017

September has been a pretty relaxed month, starting with a few days of rest. It’s been more like summer than the beginning of a new season for the latter half of the month, but I’ve been enjoying the blue sky and sunshine.
WRITING
Finished the latest draft of TAD2.
FINALLY.
I’m working on my notes now before I do my read-through (which will create more notes), but I’m hoping to make much quicker progress this time around.

Rereading The Pursuit of Merriment.
I hadn’t really read any of these since posting the last chapter of An Occasion for Laughter on Wattpad, so I figured this one was due a read and a bit of polishing.

Prepping for Novel Plot Week.
I think I’ve narrowed my list of potential projects down, but I haven’t chosen one yet. It’s like 2015 NaNo prep all over again! Although I really don’t want to do that many Novel Plot Weeks in one month again.
BLOGGING
I had a lot of blogging plans for September, including another character post for Tolkien Week, but those plans did not happen. On the flip side, I finally wrote that Boromir-themed post I’ve wanted to write for ages! ^_^

ON THE BLOG

AROUND THE BLOGOSPHERE
LIFE
Vacation. (Sort of.)
My family had plans to take a trip to the beach in early September, but those plans didn’t quite work out. So instead, we spent a few days just relaxing and going on little everyday adventures closer to home.

Finally watched Newsies.
I’d been hoping to watch this one and when I saw it was on Netflix, I couldn’t pass up the chance. I really liked it.

Said farewell to our Mighty Thor.
Sadly, one of our furbabies passed away this month. Thor was originally only a foster kitten and we had no plans to adopt another pet, but he stole our hearts and those of our other cats and made himself quite at home. While he was only with us for a little while, he offered plenty of cuddles and made us smile.
Tell me about your September! Are you already missing summer? What’s your favorite part about autumn?

  1. Congrats again on finishing TAD2! SO EXCITING. And I hope you're able to decide on a NaNo project. I canNOT believe it's a month away. O____O

AWK. You linked to my blog post. YOU ARE SO SWEET. I'm honored! Thank you!!!

I am so sorry about your kitty passing away! It is SO hard saying goodbye to animals. *hugs*

I'm so excited fall is coming! I'm...not the biggest fan of summer. Gimme ALLLL the cool weather! Lol. Even though it hasn't exactly cooled off where I live. >.> But I'm PRETENDING it's fully fall just to make myself feel better. XD

    1. Thank you! :D

I think I may have chosen one! It's started shoving the others out of the way so the chances are good, hehe.

You're so welcome! It was such an inspiring post!

      Thank you. *hugs*

I know the feeling! It's that weird in-between phase here—the mornings and evenings are cold but the afternoons put one at risk for melting! The leaves are starting to change and the sky looks like a fall sky, which is nice though. :)

  2. Congrats on TAD2! I'm so excited to know more about that book!

I'm so sorry about Thor =(<3<3<3

Good luck choosing a NaNo project! I've been bouncing back and forth between revising a novel and prepping for NaNo as I'm tackling a fairly large project and am a little scared honestly! But prep is half the fun, right?

I'm so happy it's autumn! Summer is my least favorite season so I'm not really sad it's gone. Plus, pumpkin spice everything! And hot chocolate *_*

Hope you have a good month, Jameson!

    1. Thank you so much! Hopefully, it doesn't disappoint! :)

      Thank you. <3

NaNo prep is definitely half the fun! At least when the novels cooperate, hehe! I've got one idea that looks like it'll be my NaNo project, so hopefully I'll have a blog post up about it soon. How are the revisions coming along?

      PUMPKIN SPICE. *heart eyes*

Thanks! I hope your October is awesome!

  3. Can't believe September is GONE. What happened? Does anyone else feel this way?? (Haha) But yay!! Congratulations on completing TAD2! Can't wait for this sequel!!! And your vacation sounded relaxing. Maybe not as great as a trip to the beach, but life happens! So glad you and family still had a nice vacation despite a life plot-twist. :]

    AHH!! Newsies! LOVE that musical!!!

My condolences regarding Thor. It's so sad to say goodbye to a favorite pet. . . :[

About NaNo: Excited to hear what you choose! And I might have. . . er, possibly - definitely - signed up. . . for it. . . too. . . *insert terrified emoji* I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. This will be my first year! Any advise?? :P

    1. I know! This year has flown by.

      Thank you so much! :D

It was really nice, if different than planned. We were able to do things like the county fair and catch up on some visiting, so that was fun!

Yes! The choreography and music are so much fun.

      Thank you. :)

EEEEEEEEP! You're doing NaNo?! How exciting! I think my biggest piece of advice would be to just have fun with it—it can be a little stressful at times, but it's more about the writing than the word count. :) Oh, and keeping a list of scene ideas around is super helpful. I tend to get stuck trying to figure out starting new scenes, so having a list of ideas to glance at sometimes is enough to kickstart a writing session. :)
