Lazy Days | May 2017

And another month is gone! Seriously: Where did May go? The first half of the month passed at a leisurely pace and the rest rushed by. I hit a bit of a creative slump around the beginning of the month, so I spent a lot of time trying to recharge.

WRITING

Reconfigured the plot for TAD2.
This took up much more time than I thought it would. After a few brainstorming sessions, looking back over old drafts, and a few minor meltdowns, I now have an outline that fixes the issues I was having with the Camp NaNo draft. It basically means redoing the first half of the book, but now that I have the issues figured out, I am hoping for easier writing in the next few weeks.

Continued posting chapters of An Occasion for Laughter.
We’re almost to the end! It’s a fluffy bit of shorter fiction that I’ve had fun writing.

BLOGGING

Redesigned my website and blog.
Navigation on the website is a bit cleaner now, plus the color scheme and layout are different. I’m also trying out a new layout for LW. I’m still deciding if I prefer this to the previous one though. Feel free to chime in with thoughts!

ON THE BLOG

LIFE

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I went into the theater with moderate hopes for entertainment and left rather pleased. Sure, I had issues with some of it (namely a couple of plot holes and storylines I wanted to see resolved) but overall, I loved it and found it to be good fun. Plus, it was a fun reason to wear my pirate medallion necklace. :)

Read eight books.
Mostly things I hadn’t read before. I enjoyed most of them (mini reviews coming next month!). And more of my books made their way out of storage, which means my bookshelves are filling up again! So. Many. Books.

Baking experiments.
I made my first successful chocolate mug cake in the microwave. I think I’ll use less cocoa powder next time since it was a little bitter, but the texture was perfect. I also tried a new version of a coconut cake, which turned out to be really tasty.

And that’s what May looked like for me. Tell me about your month!
