In Bloom: April 2017

 April has been a month of adjusting to changes, planning things, and quite a bit of writing!

* Camp NaNo.
Like last year, I wrote a “letter from camp” update here. I made it to my goal of 40K but this draft isn’t done yet. I haven’t written much since reaching 40K, but I’ve taken the weekend to recharge a little bit and figure out a couple of plot things so that I can hopefully finish this draft by (maybe) the 10th.

* Reading.
Goodreads is very helpful for working on reading goals because updating the progress bars is about as addictive as updating one’s word count during a NaNo session. I am also very grateful for the library’s ebook and audiobook program, which is where most of my books came from this month.

* Moving.
It’s a process, but things are settling down. I am really eager to get the rest of my books out of storage and have them on shelves again. I’m also looking forward to setting my office corner up and writing there again.

* Spending more time outside.
I’ve been spending some mornings on the porch with my journal and music, trying to clear my head a little bit before starting the day. It’s been quite relaxing and definitely something I want to continue when I can.

Tell me about your month! Did you participate in Camp NaNo? How’d it go? What was your favorite book you read this month?

  1. My favorite book I've read lately would probably be Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis. It kills me every time. I've also been trying to spend more time outside, but I do it on walks. I don't like sitting still outside because that is how the bugs get you. I hope you enjoy getting more sunshine yourself. :)

    1. Walks are fun (and a great way to avoid the bugs)! ;)
