Goodbye, May | May 2020

Can y’all believe it’s almost June? Compared to April, May passed by super quickly!
Still working on Unto Ash.
Lots of plot restructuring happened this month!

Short stories!
You know those moments of completely unexpected inspiration that hit you and you can’t not write the words? I had a few of those moments for Starsong this month, and considering it’s a project I haven’t worked on since sometime in 2018, it’s been fun to dabble in that story again.

I also made the outline for a short story featuring the characters of The Assassin’s Daughter and The Treasonist’s Son, so that has been really fun to dabble in (even though I’m kind of breaking my own rule a little bit about not working on a WIP while it’s out for betareading…).

ON THE BLOG
Vacation.
My family spent a weekend camping, which was lovely. Mostly, we played card games, took some walks, read a lot.

Speaking of reading…

I finally finished Dracula!
I started it sometime around late September or early October. I knew it’d take me a while to read it, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was super fun to read!
How was your month? Are you excited about summer?

  1. May did seem to fly by. What a lovely May it was for you, though! I so miss my family's yearly camping trips. Was hoping this year we could finally go again. :] That photo is gorgeous!

I completely understand that feeling of stories popping in randomly & the NEED to jot 'em down. That's awesome! And I have that same rule! haha, so funny that it turns more into a guideline... ;D xD

Happy June! I love this month because it's the official beginning of Summer (one of my top fave seasons). I hope it's a lovely one for you, dear girl!! <333

    1. It was a lovely way to spend a weekend! We used to go camping every year, but this was the first time we were able to in years.

Writing rules were meant to be turned into guidelines (or at least that's what I learned from Pirates of the Caribbean ;D )!
