The Marvel Cinematic Universe Tag

It’s been a week since I watched Avengers: Endgame and I’m still feeling all the things, y’all.

In celebration of Endgame, Christine created this super cool tag inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I had so much fun fangirling with these questions. I’ve tried to keep it spoiler-free regarding Endgame, though there are some very, very vague references to it in the “Favorite/Least Favorite Ship” question, if you prefer to skip over that one.

  • Feel free to include the above graphic somewhere in your post (but it’s definitely not necessary).
  • Take the questions and answer them on your blog (or social media or wherever!).
  • Tag up to 5 other Marvel fans!

How were you introduced into the MCU fandom?
I’d watched the early 2000s Spider-man, Hulk, and X-Men movies a few times and was interested in them, but in 2008, everyone started talking about Iron Man and insisting that I had to see it. So my family rented it, I loved it, my mom explained what the end credits scene was referring to in regards to comics, and I was intrigued to see where that might go.

And then in 2011, my family rented Thor and THAT was when I was truly hooked on the MCU because it featured so many of my favorite story elements.

So I didn’t start watching MCU movies in theaters until The Avengers, which, if I remember correctly, was also the first midnight movie screening I’d ever been to!

What’s your favorite Marvel film?
Probably Thor, but I also really like the first Avengers movie. Endgame is somewhere among my top favorites with the Captain America and Iron Man series, and Doctor Strange.

Top favorite Marvel character?
Thor! No surprises there, right?

I have a lot of feelings about Thor so I’ll spare you the paragraphs and just say that I love him.

If you were transported into the MCU and had to trade places with one of the superheroes, who would you choose?
Hmmm… Doctor Strange, maybe?

What are some of your favorite quotes from the films?
I think I managed to narrow this down to just a few favorites, in no particular order:

“You have met him, I presume?”
“Yeah, Sir Laurence Oblivier.”
“Try me, Beyonce.”
“Your ancestors called it magic, but you call it science. I come from a land where they are one and the same.”
“You better call it Coulson, ’cause I’m starting to root for this guy.”
“On your left.”
“Fondue is just cheese and bread, my friend.”
“Don’t forget: I’m half human. So that fifty percent of me that’s stupid? That’s one hundred percent you.”
“Where is Gamora?”
“Yeah. I’ll do you one better. Who’s Gamora?”
“I’ll do you one better. Why is Gamora?”
“You could have told me what I was from the beginning! Why didn’t you?”
“You’re my son. I wanted only to protect you from the truth.”
“What, because I... I... I am the monster parents tell their children about at night?”

“It’s like Budapest all over again.”
“You and I remember Budapest very differently.”
“’Cause we’re connected.”

Which crew would you want to be part of the most: Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Revengers?
The Avengers! *practices poses for hero scene*

Favorite and least favorite ship?
Favorite ship would probably be Steve and Peggy, because they were such a sweet pairing and a story of what-might-have-beens, and that is really all I can say without fangirlishly screaming about Certain Things.

I’m also a huge fan of Pepper and Tony, because they go through sooooo much, and even though things aren’t perfect, they still care about each other so deeply.

Least favorite...would probably be Steve and Sharon. Sharon was a cool character, but there just wasn’t any chemistry there to me?

Favorite and least favorite villain?
Favorite: Loki! He’s intimidating and formidable not just because of his powers and abilities but also because he’s such a wild card character. You can guess what his next step might be, but ultimately, only he knows.

As far as least favorite…maybe the ones from The Incredible Hulk, but that’s mostly because it has been a long, long time since I watched that movie and I don’t remember very much from it.

Unpopular MCU opinion?
My most unpopular MCU opinion is probably that Thor: Ragnarok isn’t my favorite Thor movie?

*ducks behind Cap’s shield*

It’s not my least favorite in the MCU. I just have A LOT of mixed feelings about it. There are many elements I love, and it is a really fun movie, but it’s just not my favorite of that series. (Though it’s grown on me a little bit with further rewatching, I’ll admit.)

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

What’s your favorite Stan Lee cameo scene?
“Tony Stank” will forever be iconic, but I also love this Thor cameo:

And the one from Agent Carter:

  1. GAHHHHHH! YOU DID ITTTTTT!!!! I love ALL of this---ALL OF THIS. That's a great choice to trade places with Dr Strange! I didn't think of that, but his world is so fantastically fantastic, it would be beyond awesome.

    THE QUOTESSSSSS.

Yay!!! We'd be on the same team!!! xD

I agree with you about Pepper & Tony. It's so very admirable that she sticks by him even with his enormous ego, flaws, & overall arrogance. Such a great ship!

AHH! I totally agree with you on Ragnarok! It certainly was a fun, entertaining movie, but NOT a favorite. There just seemed to be so much more "junk" than necessary, I quite disliked the Valkyrie character, and Thor was almost too goofy---though when he discovered the true potential of his powers was downright AWESOMMMMME. Still, I was halfway disappointed in that one.

Yes!! The cameo scenes are the best. And the Agent Carter show!!! Love that! I so wanna see it again.

This was so fun---I loved reading your answers, made me fangirl all over again. xD <333

    1. Yes, I love the fantasy feel of Strange's powers and story! Also, I'd probably need that cloak around to do most of my fighting anyway. Hehe.

*high fives* Avengers for the win!

Tony and Pepper have one of the best relationship story arcs in the MCU. It's sooo good.

Yeah... I liked Ragnarok more than I first expected I would, but not as much as I wish I had liked it. But the things I liked about it are things I liked A LOT so I guess it sort of evens out in the end? ^_^

My sister and I recently started rewatching Agent Carter (we didn't know it was on Hulu until a few weeks ago!), and it's so much fun. Have you seen the short film about her? It's pretty neat too!

  2. This was great!! I just watched Endgame so I might need to steal this.
I’m same about Ragnarok. It’s not my favorite, but there are a few cool aspects as well. XD

  3. I love this! I should do it. :)

Those quotes are so great. I was laughing the whole time while reading them (and trying to remember where they came from/who said them).

    1. YES. I'd love to see your answers!

There are so many good ones to choose from! MCU dialogue is just so great. ^_^ Though I realized afterwards that I probably should have added the names to them...

  4. I'm so happy you did this! I looooved seeing your answers! I love your love for Thor. It's so great. HE'S so great! He really makes the movies. Though, really, I just love all of them! <333

Yes to ALL the quotes! You really can't go wrong with ANY Marvel quote. They're all pure gems!

STEVE AND PEGGY. MY PRECIOUS PEEPS!!!! And Pepperony too! UGH. I love them so much!
I find it hilarious that we ALL can't stand the Steve and Sharon thing. XD It was just so dumb. I don't know what they were THINKING.

Loki is the best. That is all.

So glad you did the tag! This was so much fun!

    1. Me too. I LOVE ALL THE CHARACTERS SO MUCH. But Thor is the best. ;D

Aren't they though? Choosing only a few was so hard!

They're both such adorable ships and great characters. ♥ (And Pepperony is, like, the best ship name ever.) Sharon did a lot of cool things, but she and Steve just never felt like they were supposed to be a couple to me?

HE ISSS. He has such great character development and potential.

I had so much fun with this—thank YOU for creating it!
