Letter from Camp | April 2018

Dear Readers,

Yet another session of Camp NaNoWriMo is nearly over, and to be honest, this one is not going as planned.

I like the story I’m working with and the way the revisions are shaping up, but I must admit that progress is slower than I would like. I’ve focused more on TAD2 than I’d initially expected to this month, which is fine. Many of the major scene changes are almost completed and I’m hopeful for finishing the last of those in the next couple of weeks.

(And I may have gotten distracted in looking for the storysquatch again. Ahem.)

In the meantime, if you’re interested in some behind-the-scenes fun for my Camp project, check out this #WIPjoy thread on Twitter.

Wishing you all the best with your own writing and creative projects this month,
Jameson

P.S. Enclosed are snippets. Enjoy!
The swoosh of water lapping against ship hulls echoed around the dockyard in a steady telling of the tide.
She kept her gaze fixed forward and passed the inn without a single hesitant step. Behind her, the cadence of the people walking nearest had changed. A pair of footsteps hit the stones in a rhythm that nearly matched her own. The rustle of cloth and leather, the jangle of metal.
He filled his glass. “I was hoping we might manage a civil conversation with one another?”
By the way their conversations had already been going, she wasn’t sure she had anything civil left to say to him.
“Why did you ask me to stay?”
Not the question he had expected from her now. “An alliance was being considered between our countries. It seemed the least I could offer to someone of your status who had nothing else to claim.”
Are you participating in Camp NaNo? Tell me how it’s going for you!
