Favorite Indie Reads of 2017

It’s Indie Author Day! 

The indie book community is full of fantastic stories, and today, I’m going to share a few of my favorites!
Threadbare by Bethany A. Jennings
This short story features a vivid world and vibrant characters that leap off the pages.

The Beast of Talesend by Kyle Robert Schultz
A fun mix of retelling and alternate history, where fairytales are the history.

For Elise by Hayden Wand
This novellette is a cute twist on ghost stories, with a very humorous narrator.

Where the Woods Grow Wild by Nate Philbrick
This fantasy novel features fun characters and a little bit of mystery.
 
Masters & Beginners by Daley Downing
This book combines a unique take on fae lore with a focus on family dynamics and friendships.

Iridescent by Kait Spangler
Conspiracy theories, mystery, and superpowers make for a fun read in this novel.

The Blood Race by K.A. Emmons
In this novel, time/dimensional travel and superhuman abilities combine in a unique world.

The Girl Who Could See by Kara Swanson
This novella features an action-packed plot and parallel worlds under threat.

  1. The Beast of Talesend is literally the only one I've read on this list. WHICH IS SHAMEFUL. Because I've deeeesperately been wanting to read ALL the others. Except I've never heard of Iridescent, but it sounds awesome too. O_O

    GAH. I NEED ALL OF THESE.

    My favorite indie reads are probably The Beast of Talesend, The Reluctant Godfather, and the Ilyon Chronicles. Annnnd probably a million others I'm not thinking of. XD

      AHH! The Reluctant Godfather was so much fun! I've been seeing the Ilyon Chronicles all over Goodreads and totally need to add those to my TBR. They look really good!
