Second | February 2017

February has been…something. It’s difficult to believe we’re already starting the third month of this year, but it also feels like 2017 is taking its time. Less blink-and-it’s-gone than how much of 2016 felt. Populated by sunny days and some weird emotional turns, it has, overall, been a pleasant month. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

* Published The Assassin’s Daughter.
It still feels very strange to have a book out in the world. Sort of terrifying but also freeing?
All the info can be found here

* Started a new  story for The Pursuit of Merriment.
“I’m taking February as a writing break,” I said.
“No, we’re taking over instead,” the plot bunnies replied.

I don’t know what it is about the TPOM characters but they throw together a storyline and plot pretty quickly. But writing them is really fun so I’m not complaining. (Also: #BoyfriendMerritt.)

I’m currently somewhere in the fifth chapter, which is approximately the halfway point. I’m looking at posting the first chapter on Wattpad in March (if things work out), so if you’re a TPOM reader, keep an eye out. Lots of fluff happening in this one.

* Spent a day in Cades Cove.
February decided to be a spring month this year, so my grandmother, aunt, sister, and I grabbed some snacks and spent the day in the Cove. It was a much-needed break from routine.

* Joined Goodreads.
I’m still learning my way around it. If you’ve got any tips, feel free to share. (And you can find me here.) Speaking of reading, I finished eight books this month!

Tell me about your February! Favorite moments? What are you looking forward to in March?

  1. YAY FOR PUBLISHING THE ASSASSIN'S DAUGHTER. I'm reading it right now and thoroughly enjoying it! :D

    Oooh, I've been to Cades Cove before. It's so beautiful. I'd love to go again sometime. That was years ago when I went.

    GOODREADS!!!!! I was so ridiculously excited when I saw you had joined. I may be a smidge obsessed with that site. *cough, cough, COUGH* But it's such an amazing place for keeping organized with my books. I LOVE IT!

    I do so hope your March is wonderful! <3

    1. *blushes* I'm so glad!

      It's such a pretty place! We used to go at least once a month but then life got busier and now we go a few times a year... It's one of my favorite places though when I need to get away for a while. :)

      I'm loving how easy it is to track books on there! I need to spend a little more time figuring out the rest of the site, but I'm liking it a lot so far. :)

  2. I'm spamming you with comments because I'm behind on everything so I need to catch up on my favorite blogs! haha. Gosh, I can barely remember February! This year is going by too fast! But congrats again on Assassin's Daughter! I'm so happy for you and plan on reading the finished version soon! Hope you're having a good month, Jameson!
