Beautiful People: September 2016

Beautiful People is hosted by Cait and Sky, of Paper Fury and Further Up and Further In, respectively. Each month, they post ten questions for writers to use in interviewing their characters. To find out more and to join the fun, stop by their blogs!

I'll be featuring Reyn, from Roguess.
All pictures found on Pinterest.
1.) How did you come up with this character?
I don’t remember. I think Reyn was like Aveirna and Tealdyn and just introduced himself with the story idea.

2.) Have they ever been starving? Why? And what did they eat to break the fast?
Reyn has always been well-fed, and for that, he’s always been grateful. He doesn’t like the thought of starving—whether the sufferer be himself or someone else—and he doesn’t take matters of food lightly.

3.) Do they have a talent or skill that they’re proud of?
He is a healer and immensely proud of it. He oversees the healing wings of the palaces, as well as any aid needed for travel and/or battles.

4.) List 3 things that would make them lose their temper.
Wanting to help someone and not being able to do so.
Feeling betrayed.
Finding the pantry ill-stocked of his favorite treats.

5.) What is their favourite type of weather? Least favorite?
Reyn likes pretty much all weather, but he has a fondness for winter and snow. His least favorite would probably be autumn, though he isn’t sure why.

6.) What is their Hogwarts house and/or MBTI personality?
According to the personality test I just took for him, Reyn is an ESFJ. For the most part, it fits him.

7.) Are they more likely to worry about present problems, or freak out about the unknown future?
Present problems. There are some instances where he would worry about the future, but he tries to stay focused on the present and what he might be able to do now.

8.) What is their favourite thing to drink?
He has a liking for hot chocolate.

9.) What is their favourite color? Least favorite?
Reyn’s favorite color is light blue—for a number of reasons. He doesn’t really have a least favorite.

10.) What is a book that changed their life?
The books that taught him about healing and medicines.

  1. I too grow outraged when the pantry runs low on provisions. Characters who just "show up" are the most amazing ones! To me, they prove stories are living things.

    1. Thanks! He is from a fantasy story. :) I didn't even really know how much he liked food until I started writing. It was a humorous surprise!

  3. I like how Reyn's least favorite season is Autumn but he doesn't really know why. For some reason, that cracks me up.

Also, I like your collage (and those two quotes). "You don't need a weapon at all"...whoa. Since he's a healer, I'm sure this fits him, and anyone who says something like that is bound to have a different outlook on life.

    Great post!

    1. That question was so hard to answer, haha!

His outlook is an interesting one to write. In general, he doesn't like seeing people hurting, but he also knows it's kind of an inescapable thing sometimes...

      Thanks for stopping by!
