It’s done.

Guess what.

You know how I've been talking forever (okay, since March) about The Assassin's Daughter and getting it ready for beta readers and all that?

Well, it's ready.

*cue screaming*
(And also dancing.)

I did one more read-through of my own over it and combed through various typos and the like, which took me longer than initially planned. Overall, I feel pretty good about this draft.

Anyway, if you want to know a little bit more about the book, here's a short blurb:
The Assassin’s Daughter
GENRE: Fantasy

At seventeen years old, Katira is one of the most promising apprentices in the assassin trade. Years of training have brought her to the verge of earning her title, which will open the doors for choosing her own assignments and employ. All that remains is to prove her capability to her superiors, the same people who know her strengths and her weaknesses.
If she fails in completing her assignments, there will be no place for her. But how can she kill a man she thought was dead?

It's actually a pretty short book. I'm really just looking for feedback (general or detailed—either is fine with me) and to see what people think of it before I move forward with it in other areas.

So, if you'd be interested in being a beta reader, just let me know (by July 11th, please), so I can get everything in order. As far as reading deadlines, having feedback by the end of August or in early September would be fantastic. :)

  1. EEEEEEEEEEE!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! I am simply ECSTATIC for you!!! :D :D :D

Sadly, I've stopped doing any beta-reading for a while. It just got to be a bit much for me. I've been trying to spend a little less time in front of the computer screen and more time...living. Heh. I need to find balance!

But anyways, I just wanted to congratulate you! I'm totally cheering you on with all your writing endeavors. *throws confetti*

  2. Congrats on getting done! :D You've worked really hard and now you should definitely do the things that make you feel good because ACCOMPLISHMENTS HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED. Good job, Jameson! :)

  3. Oh my goodness, YAY YOU!!! I can only imagine what you must be feeling right now (hopefully someday I can have that feeling too)! Know that I'm proud of you. :)

If you like, I could beta read it for you... though it might take me awhile to read it and get back to you.
