What happened in August.

This is a little bit of what I was up to:

* I finished the second draft of my Sleeping Beauty retelling. I switched part of it to a first-person narrator, which was much easier to work with for the main character. (Speaking of, I kind of changed my main character...)

* I had a birthday. *throws confetti *

* I finally watched Ant-Man, and LOVED it.

* Made some serious progress toward my goal of stopping my nail-biting habit.

* A fun day spent in Cades Cove with my parents and my sister.

* Thoughts of NaNoWriMo began. I'm torn between wanting to do a new first draft (I have two stories in mind, and would need to pick one), or revising an older one (either my time travel novel or my pirate novel, the latter of which would probably be the one I choose). I'm excited for all the ideas though, so I guess we'll see what happens.

How was your August?

    1. I know... I'm ready for cooler weather, but I'm not ready for the year to be almost over yet!

      Thanks! :) Cades Cove is so pretty. Have you ever visited the Cataloochee side of the GSMNP?

      Yes! I'm hoping to have some snippets up soon (maybe this weekend?). :)

  2. First, I'm very interested in how you managed to change your main character in the Sleeping Beauty retelling, sounds fun. =)

    I am the same way with NaNoWriMo right now! I'm so conflicted on what I want to work on, I keep going back and forth between a thousand new ideas and wanting to revise old ones. I guess it's a good problem to have though!

    Also, just saying, I'm excited for snippets from the Sleeping Beauty retelling too! =)

    1. Well, she was a secondary character in the first draft, but it turns out the story is more about her than I'd originally thought. :)

      I've narrowed it down to three ideas, but it's still so difficult to choose! I'm hoping by the end of September to have it narrowed down to two ideas, so I can work on choosing only one in October. At least there's always more ideas for writing later, though!

      (And I have the snippets post scheduled! There aren't very many, but I tried to choose the interesting ones without giving too much away...)

  3. Yay! I hope you continue to progress at stopping biting nails! As an ex-nail biter myself, I can only say that it is hard but it is a good thing to do. For your teeth. For yourself. Congrats on getting your story done, and I'd definitely be interested to hearing more of your thoughts on Antman!
