I was given this award by Jessy! Thank you so much! :)

* 11 facts about me *
1.) I go through weird reading “phases.” Sometimes, I’ll read a book or two in a day. Other times, it can take me months to finish one.

2.) I don’t enjoy giving speeches, but I do like acting.
3.) Most of my socks are very colorful.

4.) Reese’s peanut butter cups are some of my favorite candies.

5.) If I can quote a movie or book in a conversation, I almost always will.

6.) One year, I read over 180 books. That year is my record reading year, so far.

7.) I once went in costume to see a movie in theaters (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

8.) My Kindle is named “Fitz.”

9.) Concerts are some of my favorite events to go to. These are the artists/bands I’ve seen: Casting Crowns, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Roger Williams & the AMUQ, John Waller, Glory Revealed, and Matt Redman.

10.) I love collecting movie posters. Most of mine are from POTC, LOTR, or The Avengers.

11.) I haven’t read Romeo and Juliet.

* Jessy’s Questions *

1.) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where is the first place you'd go? Why?
Oh, wow. So many places. Hmm.
Maybe Scotland? I’m kind of fascinated with it, though I’m not entirely sure why.

2.) If you could travel anywhere in any universe (fictional or otherwise), what specific place would you visit first? Why?
Iincluding fictional universes makes this one more difficult. But I think I’ll go with the first answer that popped into my brain: the planet Jupiter. A few years ago, I studied the solar system with my siblings and Jupiter ended up being my second favorite planet.

3.) Do you have a favorite Bible story/character/verse? Who/what is it?
I have several favorites, so my answer is going to be a little vague. Though I guess I would have to say I really enjoy the history in the Old Testament. Most of my favorite stories come from there.

4.) Would you ever consider eating octopus ink pasta with squid?
(I'm a bit obsessed with this question right now...)
Uhhh, maybe? I’m not really a pasta person, but I wouldn’t rule it out completely.

5.) Have you read The Book Thief? What is your opinion on it? Favorite quote/scene?
(You may mention the movie if you've seen it, but try to keep the movie spoilers to a minimum.)
No! I borrowed it from the library once but wasn’t in a reading mood so never started the book. I want to read it soon though, and remedy this situation. Then, I’d like to see the film.

6.) If you suddenly found yourself in a do-or-die situation, what would it be?
What single item would you want to have with you?
I honestly have no idea. *ponders this question*

7.) Quotes are lovely things. I've got an entire blog devoted to them.
Post a favorite or three [for me to use].
(if I use any, I'll link to your post as the source and tell you when it publishes)
I have a whole document and Pinterest boards with favorite quotes, but here is a sampling:

“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity, to what we would have others think of us.” - Jane Austen

“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.”- Lewis Carroll

“...the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.” - J.R.R. Tolkien

8.) What is your favorite type of blog post to read?
{Beautiful People, Stacking the Shelves, ramblings, [original] writings,
character posts...}
I like linkups, ramblings, photography posts.... Just about any type of post, really.

9.) What's the first thing you do in the morning, after you attempt to wake up and actually get out of bed?
Usually, I read my Bible. Then breakfast, getting ready for the day...

10.) What is the worst book you've ever read?
Most of the time if I don’t like a book, I don’t finish it. I don’t really remember what the worst book I’ve read is, but there have been several I’d call more disappointing than awful.

11.) Can you swim? Ocean, lake, creek, or pool?
Decently enough, and usually in a pool. I prefer to wade in the ocean, dip my toes in creeks, and sit on the shores of lakes.

And for the nominations...
Since I don’t know enough qualifying blogs to nominate, I’m nominating anyone who wants to answer these questions! :)

Here are the questions, should you choose to participate:
1. Do you have a favorite pen or pencil?
2. Do you have any pets? If not, what sort of pet might you wish to have?

4. Is there a skill/talent you wish you had?
5. Are you reading anything right now? If so, what?
6. What song is your favorite to sing along with?

9. Which season is your favorite?
10. Favorite vacation spot?

Comments

  1. Your first two random facts are just like myself. And Scotland! I love Scotland. That's one place I'd like to go sometime.

Oh, read it! Soon! It's awesome!! I still have yet to see the movie. I'm dying of anticipation, though...

Hmm, I like those questions. I'll answer them here, if that's okay :)

    1. Of course! Well, several. Any of my Pilot G2 07 pens. Those are my favorites, always.
    2. Yup! I have a cat, her name is Torri. We also have many fish and a bunny named Nugget. (And the neighbors' dog, Norman, who's almost as much our dog as he is theirs.)
    3. Reading/writing (obviously) and acting things out or talking with my characters (and other favorite characters, too)
    4. Speaking different languages. I'm actually working on that right now. (Hopefully I'll be started lessons on ASL soon.) Arab and Irish are two others that first come to mind. I'd love to be a multi-linguist, though.
    5. A bunch of randomness. Lots of blogs, The Last Olympian, and some things I'm beta reading.
    6. My absolute favorite? I don't know. But the first one that comes to mind is "Crazy" <3 (by Hunter Hayes)
    7. BOOKS. Music. movies.
    8. College-ruled. I despise wide-ruled.
    9. Winter.
    10. I'm not sure I have *a* favorite vacation spot. When we go on family vacation, we [almost] always go somewhere different. We try to go to a different historical-type place every time. We went to the Outer Banks three times, though I'm not sure I'd say that's my favorite spot to vacation. I'm really not sure.
    11. Nope, not yet.

I'm glad you've posted this! I enjoyed reading your answers and facts and all.

    1. That's so cute about Norman! We have cats, and they have this thing with "adopting" other cats. It would seem that my house is the coolest place to hang out here, for animals anyway.

That sounds cool! I know a little ASL (mostly from the drama team I was on at my old church), and it is a fascinating language. Which language are you working on now?

My family likes to go to historical places too. We stopped in Charleston last year, which was pretty fun to see (I hadn't been there before), though we weren't able to stay long.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    2. Just ASL, though I've been staying with my aunt this week, and her husband is from Brazil, so I've learned a very small bit of Portuguese.

I've never been so Charleston. We'll have to go there some time! But then, there's so many places I need to go...

    1. Thanks!

The name seems to suit him (and doubles as an Austen reference!). :)
